Chetan Bhagat is the author of nine blockbuster books. These include seven novels—Five Point Someone (2004), One Night @ the Call Center (2005), The 3 Mistakes of My Life (2008), 2 States (2009), Revolution 2020 (2011), Half Girlfriend (2014) and One Indian Girl (2016)—and the non-fiction titles What Young India Wants (2012) and Making India Awesome (2015). Chetan’s books have remained bestsellers since their release. Several of his novels have been adapted into successful Bollywood films.
When I was 16, for the first time I read his novel – 2 states, which my elder brother, Sunil recommended me to read it once, if I want to read one. Before that I never read any novel and after that I always read novels and as a “Major in English”, I’ve read lot of novels and some of his novels like half-girlfriend, 2 states and others.
Chetan Bhagat is really different in terms of treating and telling stories. I am not going to compare him to anyone but I am just say that he is one of the good English writers we have. He always has something in his story for everyone. His writing style is such that a 13 year old child can even read his novels. I like the clarity over subjects that he writes about. My first time, Oh! God, it was really beautiful moment. To me, it was like a drug, as much page I was into, I was just going inside, falling inside. I felt it heart touching and I observed that novels are very different from movies. Once you become a reader, I don’t think that you are going to escape from leaning towards liking the book and even now I am just eagerly waiting for his novel to release.
So, here, what’s his new novel about, the title? His new novel’s title is “The girl in room 105”. It’s very different then rest of all his works. There are many thriller elements in the book, story of a heart-broken Keshav and Zara, his girlfriend, later she becomes his ex, as they have broken up. She has moved on after the breakup but Keshav is still stuck up there. Keshav drinks every night to forget her i.e., unlove her (as chetan bhagat has used this term), but is unable to do so. Whenever he tried to get in touch with her. She just ignored him. But one night she calls him and asks him to meet in her hostel room 105 just like the old times. He shouldn’t have gone. But, he does go and his life changes forever.
It’s a fast paced, funny and unavoidable thriller about obsessive love. There are some very glimpses of the current situation of contemporary India. How does it affect both of them and in what ways. So, I am just looking forward to read it, I will surely read it and review it, but I am sure after reading my write up you won’t wait. So, here a link, from where you can purchase the book. Hurry up! I am sure of every age group this will really be read. Pre-order it by 8th October, 2018 and read it.
